The Mystery Of The Cupboard |
|
By
Lynne Reid Banks book 4 of a series of 4 books |
|
| This is
the 4th book about Omri and his magic cupboard. In this book his Mum inherits a house in
the country and they all move in. One day Omri's cat goes missing. He follows the sounds
of mewing but cannot find her in amongst the hay. He steps back and treads on something
hard ..... Omri finds out how his cupboard became magic and who made the key and he learned a lot of history. I liked this book but I did not think it was as good as the others. I missed Little Bull the Indian and Boone the Cowboy. The characters in this book were not as good for me. It was nice to know the history of the cupboard but it was not as exciting somehow. This book did teach you a lot. It told you about consequences and responsibility. Omri had to learn to look after the little people and not mess up their lives to make it fun for him. He had to be careful not to change history too in case he ended up changing his own world now! I would read it again - it was not a bad book, it was just not as good as the other Indian books.
