The Final Reckoning |
|
By Robin Jarvis |
|
| This is
the the final book in the Deptford Mice Trilogy. Jupiter is back! This is the final chance
for the mice to conquer his evil and save themselves from the perilous ice-age that has
descended upon them. But first, they will need to overcome the army of ghost rats with
their glinting, murderous ice-spears. This was a thrilling conclusion to the Deptford saga. As always, the story was fast-paced and chilling. It gripped me and I was carried along in the plot. All the favourite characters were there for the final show down but, sadly, not all of them survived. Robin Jarvis has sustained my interest throughout this trilogy and each book has been of a high quality. I do not think any of the books were "weak" as they sometimes are in a series and the mysteries kept me guessing right to the end. Jarvis has an excellent way of including lots of new, minor riddles to puzzle over and he weaves them in with the main thread very skilfully. I highly recommend this series but if you get easily scared then they are not for you. Heh heh heh! Iestyn Evans October 2001 |
