I saw this on telly first and it was such a good series that we went and got the book. The book is fun too but not as good as the program.

It is a fantasy fiction or science fiction book about a space alien called a "Oricon" or -as our people would say - a "wishgiver". She grants wishes but not wishes that you make on purpose, but wishes that are accidentally made! They are often wishes that people did not really want to come true. It is ok though because the wishes do not last for too long - 1 day. She needs the wishes to mend her spaceship.

Ben finds the Oricon in his room one night and together they have some VERY funny adventures. Whizziwig the oricon was very nice and friendly and not at all scary for an alien.

This is a very easy book to read and most children would like it. The pictures are black and white line drawings and they are good but they were very different from the TV characters - even Whizziwig looks very different. I would probably have liked them a lot more if I had not seen the TV program first.
