This is a very funny and sickening book! It made my Mum queasy and made me laugh and laugh. It is about some boys who make a bet that one of them - Billy - cannot eat 15 worms in 15 days. He has to find lots of ways of making the worms nice to eat and 2 of the other boys find bigger and more horrid worms and try to stop him from eating them.

I liked the idea for the story - it was unusual and fun. One of my favourite bits was at the end when the two boys lock Billy up so that he cannot eat his worm for that day and then they will not have to pay the bet but one of the other boys finds a clever way to help him. If you want to know if he manages all 15 worms .... read the book!!!

The different ways they try to trick Billy and the different worm recipes he invents are a great laugh. There are not many illustrations.

It is very easy to read and there are very short chapters. I would recommend this book to ages 5 and over if they can read well enough or maybe someone can read it to them because the story is fun.
