This book is a big book with all six books in the series in one volume. It is a chillier story about two Australians.

Rory's mum is marrying Dawn's dad and neither of them is happy about it. Dawn misses her dead mum and Rory misses his dad who went off and left them.

Rory has a toy Apple Man, the only thing he has to remind him of his dad, but the Apple Man is more than he thinks.

Metal sheep, Killer worms, Giant frogs, Mutated vines all come after them. Thankfully  they have Gramps to keep them going and keep them laughing.

I thought that bits of this book were very funny, like when Dawn ate possum poo thinking that it was a chocolate-coated almond. The illustrations were ok but in black and white the were not brilliant. Perhaps the original colour covers on the individual books would have been better.

The over all story was quite good but there were a few things which weren't so good. I thought it was disgusting when the slobbers sucked out peoples innards out so they looked like a smooth mat. It was horrible to think about  having a twisted, broken leg which can't be mended. I didn't think that the last book was as good as the rest.
