This is one of the best Puffin Modern Classics I have ever read and I think that it has been a very successful book. I am glad that it has been made a Puffin Classic because I think that people know that Puffin Classics are better books than normal books are and because they know that, they will buy more of them so people could easily come across this book and be able to also find the joy that I found when I was reading this gorgeous book.

Tom speaks with a sarcastic humour which I found very funny and because you new how he was saying things I found that there were times when I was cracking up with laughter even though the book was not humour!

It begins when Tom, who seems rather a lonely quiet boy who has to stay on an, as he calls it, 'boring' farm while his parents go on a cycling holiday. The trouble is, Tom does not like animals much and does not want to go.
When Tom gets there he finds out about a black fox. Unfortunately Tom's uncle wants to kill the fox!

Can Tom stop Him?
You will have to read the book 'cause I won't tell you!

I would recommend this book to good readers aged 8 and over.
