| I liked the cover so much on this book because I like dogs and these
are smashing ones! Great cover! Then I read the back and found out that it was about dog
sled racing and the Iditarod race so I was very interested and I bought it. It took a long time for me to read it but it was worth it. It is based on a true survival story which actually happened to the book's author Gary Paulson!J A sled rider has worked with dogs nearly all his life and has slowly changed from using them to take him round his trapline to running them, learning from them and training puppies. He stopped trapping Muskrats for the government because he could not bear to kill anymore. He still liked being away and outside though so he changed to the sled dogs!C Soon he heard about a race called the Iditarod... The Iditarod is a race. It stretches from one end of the Alaskan wilderness to the other. It is long and it is so cold that it drives people insane. He enters this race with his dog team and millions of unexpected things happen... This was an awsome book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Iestyn Evans |
