Tales from ark book.jpg (139114 bytes)

This is a fiction book based on Noah's ark, when God sent the flood to destroy earth. It tells you what might have happened on the ark. Each chapter is a different tale from a different animal's point of view. Noah has to solve the animals' problems and keep everyone happy until the flood is over.

The story starts when God sends a big flood to destroy all living beings. Noah, his family and two of every living creature were saved from the flood by God who told Mr Noah to build the ark to save them. God told Mr Noah how much food he would need and that the ark was water -tight. They set off. As they sail along, Mr Noah and the animals have some very exciting adventures together. The animals argue and complain, they don't always stop to think about the other animals. With the help of Mr Noah they learn how to share and tolerate each other. The ark comes safely through the flood and in the end the animals have grown quite fond of each other.

I thought that it was a good book. I liked it because the text was funny and descriptive, I also liked the different characters. The book has a lot to teach people about friendship and getting on with others.

My favourite chapter is the elephant's tale. It is my favourite chapter because they organised a big party. All the animals are being friendly and having fun. There is entertainment where the peacock shows off his tail and the snake sheds his skin.

My favourite characters are the Dormice because I liked making up a squeaky voiced character for them and they looked cute.

I found that it was an easy book to read and that it was quite funny. There are several black and white drawings, which are quite good. I would recommend that ages 4-10 would enjoy this story.
